We took the overnight ferry from Portland, ME. When the sun came up we were approaching the dock at Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
The Nova Star Ferry in the background. We had beautiful waterfront sites at The Islands Provincial Park in Shelburne for 5 nights.
Across the harbor is Shelburne's historic waterfront. A town known for fishing and boat building.
A hungry seal roams the harbor with the incoming tide. That's a loon in the water…hard to see.
The morning's high tide means placid waters…just right for kayaking.
Thistle enjoyed the paddle too.
Waiting for Nan.
Approaching the Shelburne waterfront.
The building on the left is the Dory shop, now a museum where dories are still made the old-fashioned way, and you can learn about that important industry. That's a dory in fron of us
Our explorations of historic Shelburne and other nearby coastal towns will wait for another post. Free WiFi at Tim Horton's Donut Shop is very slow.
Ooh.....very beautiful place and Tim Horton coffee is so much better than Starbucks!
